The thing I think is missing from the comments stating he was conservative in his views regarding sins etc....is that Jesus would want to show you the way, peacefully. He would not condemn you and believe that you were lost. He would never give up....

Because his message is so lost among the self-proclaimed religious people, I boycott religion....I think Big J existed and was an amazingly loving person. I think the world missed the point.

Oh, I think Jesus would say that he is neither Lib or Con, he would want to see all points of view, he would be more concerned with the afterlife than with politics. He would feed people rather than be concerned with votes. He would want us to be one people rather than perpetuate the split that has happened because people feel the need to label those that are different than themselves.

I am not quite sure that "liberal" is the correct term.

"Radical" might be better.

Jesus certainly did not practice Judaism as it had come to be practiced from, at least the time of the second temple. The Jews returned from the Babylonian Captivity and introduced many elements of foreign religious systems into their religious worship; including the worship of the sun-god as can be seen in Ezekiel 8.

In what way do you assert that Jesus rebelled against the government? The government of the Jewish Sanhedrin or the government of the Roman authorities?

What does the term "conservative" mean when it comes to Christianity? Some might assert it means to acquiesce to the authority of the Roman Catholic Church, or some other ecclesiastical authority. Some might assert that it means to accept and believe what the Bible plainly says and teaches instead of turning all of it into allegories, myths, fables, parables, and such, full of figurative and symbolic language.

Statistically, most "Christians" are conservative because the largest Christian denomination in the world is Roman Catholicism and it is considered "conservative".

He rebelled against hypocrisy, against the big taking advantage of the small. He was very liberal with love, as he was love. But, very much of a conservative regarding sin/behavior.

liberals don't rebel against government - they are for big government, controlling every aspect of a persons life.

Yeah, spiritually he was kind of a liberal-socialist with a bit of commie thown in. However, he was not really into politics and said so; "my kingdom is not of this world", "render unto Caesar." etc. I think he would have hung out with the flower children; gotten them OFF of drugs and booze and into love. Of course, they were already into love....

I've made that argument with conservatives before. They usually just try to change the subject. It can be greatly amusing.

Jesus Christ didn't rebell against government. He was the one who wrote the laws that the jews "practiced". He was the only one fallowing them.

The pharasies had him killed because he showed their true nature.
