People's immune systems develop antibodies at different rates. So to be on the safe side they have people get tested up to 6 months past exposure. Some doctors say the 1 month test is accurate some say the 6 month test is better.

it takes time for the virus to incubate, so a test given a month after exposure might yield a different result 3-6 months after.
