Okay, today we have muslims and jews fighting in the middle east. In the middle east Islamic terrorists kill people for not following their religion. This is very bad.

But then you have the christian fundamentalists who hold signs that say hateful things such as "dead soldiers please god" and "god hates homos". I'm sure if these people could, they'd kill non-christians.

And then there were the crusades where christians marched into the middle east to reclaim the holy land. many muslims and christians were killed.

Religion causes a lot of damage, what's the point of believing it anymore? especially when there's so much evidence for evolution that it's even taught in most schools now (don't worry, they explain that its a theory).

Good points, although the Crusades were more of a political thing.

The Christian Church that you refer to is all of 100 members of one church in Kansas and half of that is made up of one family. It is a cult disguised as Christian.
The Crusades was about 1000 years ago, was about economics and has nothing to do with today.
The Muslims you refer to are Islamic fascist and yes they do a lot of damage. However their religion has been perverted by people who want political power.
The biggest killers though in history are the Non Religious.
Here is a list of these Peaceful beautiful people:

Stalin killed 60 million Christians, and Jews
Mao Killed 70 million Taoist, Buddhist, and Christians
Hitler Killed 8 million mostly Jews and Christian priests and nuns
Pol Pot Killed 3 million Buddhist
Kim Killed 4 million Buddhist, Christians and Atheist
Kim 2 Killed .5 million Atheist all the other religious were dead
after the first Kim.
Castro has killed 0.25 million Christians and 10 thousand Atheist
French revolution leaders Mirabeau, Danton, Marat, killed half a
million Jews and Christians. They so hated religion that they even changed the calendar to 10 day weeks with new names for the days of the week so there wouldn`t be a Sunday to worship on.
The Communist leaders listed above all found these Atheist French Revolutionaries to be their role models.

The problem isn't religion. The problem is religion untempered by an open mind, an inquisitive attitude, and a grasp of reality. Fanatically following any religion leads to violence and hatred. But when faith is tempered by an open mind, religion then teaches morals and values, so long as one does not take it all literally without questioning...

Oh, and stephen s...

"The Christian Church that you refer to is all of 100 members of one church in Kansas and half of that is made up of one family. It is a cult disguised as Christian." There are significantly more than 100 christians against homosexuality and homosexuals, and refuse to accept that it is not a choice. There are significantly more than 100 christians who are so fanatical in their beliefs that they look down upon others. I agree with you, however, that these people reflect poorly upon the christian faith and that the christian faith IS peaceful (see my comments above)... Yes the crusades were quite some time ago, but so were the other things you mentioned (less than 1000 years, but still quite a different time) and... for the record

Hitler WAS a Christian... NOT an atheist

First there's no religion that teaches violence. All religion depends on the teachers way of teaching and the students interpretation of the teaching. Not all Muslims are terrorist and not all Christians during the middle ages agree on the crusades.

If all the people will only set aside their religion and learn to forgive and love thy neighbors, the world will be a better place to live.

muslims werent just sitting there and all of a sudden became attacked, there is evidence to show they were starting to conquer lands themseveles.

evolution doesnt disprove relgion-in no way does it say there is no God, or that Jesus isnt God.

and most of all, you havent proved religion is violent, you proved some of the followers are.

Maybe it's just man in general. There aren't any women killing anyone. Well, i'm sure a few. But no way in comparison to men. We should just kill off all males, except for like me and you and a couple other cool cats so we could have all the womens. It would be peaceful for a long time. haha...

Hoever. You should have written, We have Men fighting each other in the middle east. We have evil hearted men that kill if you don't agree with them.

We have people holding signs up that have every right to hold up signs in america. Their intelligence and sanity may be in question, but they have a constitutional right to protest. When you say, "i'm sure if these people could, they'd kill non-christians.", is merely speculative, yet imaginative, on your part.

Again, men took jerusalem, and some other men took jerusalem back. Many people were killed.

People cause a lot of damage, not their so-called philosophies. They may say they are doing it for this or that cause, but in reality it's all steeped in pride, jealousy, envy, hatred... we're a bunch of insane murderous muther ******** that will use any excuse to take what we want, using any kind of name to justify our insanity.

there is evidence of something in our world, whether it's evolution, micro-evolution, macro-evolution, darwinism (which is taught in grade schools), neo-darwinism, catastrophism, or even punctuated equillibrium... these are all just semblance mechanisms to try to explain something we barely understand.

You're looking for some validation of your reasons to reject Christ. I guess you've accomplished same.

The lunatic fringe on TV does not a religion make.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for our Armed Forces and, I assure you, am not looking to murder anyone... non-Christian or otherwise.

I think religion is peaceful.

The sad fact is that the people practicing the various religions are not peaceful. Nor will they ever be.
