Remember he hires trains and oversees his staff and people take their beloved pets to his training center because of his fame.

One incident that I found easily because the owner is a TV producer, how many average joe incidents, if any. And if it was your dog what would you say. If he was a day care provider, ppl would be after his head.

I was waiting for something like this to happen.
Don't get me wrong.I admire Milan but not for the reasons most think of to do so.
I'm not a real big fan of the show. But I do watch it occasionally. And I totally agree that some of his methods are outdated and using them are uncalled for.
My admiration comes from the fact that this man, without formal training in this field has single-handedly made hundreds of thousands of people watch, listen and apply common sense techniques to make and keep their dogs happy and in a healthier state than before.
more and more people I run into are making comments that I know came directly off that show. But they're actually spending quality time with their dogs .Teaching them to be well behaved where before they left the dog in the back-yard on a chain un-noticed.
People are treating their dogs with more respect and consideration now thanks to this man and NG &APL channels.
Everyone I run into who watches the show and has become an overnight expert dog trainer I calmly remind that the entire show was'nt filmed in half an hour and the dog was not trained miraculously in that time frame.Every dog is different just as we are and some will respond to these methods and some will not so they should'nt go out of their way to cure the neighbors problem dog for them. Also there are many many far more qualified, expert trainers who refuse to use some of his harsh remedies and outdated techniques out there who can give far better advice than a half hour program can.
And they need to contact one for their friend.
It's unfortunate the man is in the pickle he's in.No one can oversee their staff every second to ensure things such as this don't happen. But he should be held accountable. As should the staff member who did this horrible thing.Just as vets should be held accountable when a surgery goes wrong due to their negligence.

Accidents happen. I really do not understand why a fearful dog would have been out on a treadmill, but I don't know the details either.

The furbaby people hate him. But furbaby methods do NOT work for some dogs. I am pleased there are other methods like Cesars put out for the public to see. I think the one-size-fits-all-bribe-with-a-treat-never-say-no-training is dangerous for some dogs/owners. Just as some of Cesars methods can be dangerous when used by a novice.

As far as likening it to a human daycare, that is apples and oranges. They are dogs, not babies, and that is why so many have dog problems, they do not understand the difference.

That is a BS article, even the New York Times limits their typos. They spelled so many words wrong, used swear words and created a story out of nothing. I have taken my dogs to Cesars training facility twice and he knows dogs, period. This article is Animals Rights garbage. Flooding is a technique that has drawn controversy, as he did with the great dane that was afraid of slippery surfaces. This is not inhumane for anyone who bothers to do research and other methods of training are much more brutal (i.e. Koehler Method), which is designed for SchH, weightpull, obedience etc... Any AR nutjob is going to be against training of any kind, no matter how humane it really is. I am sure Cesar has some kind of release of liability that will get his company out of this. He knows what he's talking about and it doesn't sound like the author of this article knows he -ss from his elbow. Don't believe every piece of media garbage you come across.

No dog trainer could have caused such injuries using a simple 'choke chain'. Trainers working with fearful dogs wouldn't punish them or give them corrections. My only speculation, without having all the fact of the incident, is that somewhere along the line, the dog became fearful enough to attack a person or another dog they were trying to socialize it with. It's hard to say if there is any fault here, but I think it is an instance that requires an investigation.

Looks like the dog Psychologist needs a trip to a Phychologest.
What in the world does running on a treadmill have to do with a dog being timid.

I haven't read such a load of crap in my life. I will simply say that the same people who think a correction properly applied to a dog is "cruelty" are the same ones who think a deserved spanking is "child abuse". There is a difference between "abuse" and "reasonable consequences". The only problem is that to know this, you must have "common sense". And it seems there is less and less of that around all the time.

if his practices were so arcane, experts at national geographic would have been on it years ago. isn't this the 2nd or 3rd season? it sounds like someone is taking a swipe at some deep pockets.

That made me sad, I love dogs and have owned many. You can train dogs with love and gentle care. I hope they take actions against him if indeed it is true.
