I tend to be very sensitive, i get mad in a second(or less) and i am very upseted by people's criticism, insults, unwanted comments, ect. But these don't tend to link together. im always tired, i almost always have a headache. i think about things that happened in the past and they still bother me. i tend to be very paranoid, for example i suspect people of doing things behind my back. i feel miserable all the time. i try to tell my parents but they laugh at me. i tell them im not feeling okay. i used to sleep too much, now i don't sleep enough. is this normal teenage ups and downs, or is there a actual problem?

It may be that you're just going through regular teen growing stuff. But, if your parents aren't taking you seriously and don't make a real effort to see and understand you for who you are, then yes, a counselor would be a really good idea. Btw, if you've felt like this for many weeks, it sounds like depression and would be a good idea to talk to your doctor, too.

I went through the same thing, it is a combination of teenage years and anxiety. I just started to see a therapist, it's great. If you can do this, they will help you work out what is truly bothering you. Sounds like their is something going on deeper, than you wish to discuss. If you go to your doctor they can refer you to a therapist and some are covered under OHIP depending which type of therapist you see. Otherwise talk to a freind, or someone who understands. Sit down with your parents together and say look, I am serious about this I need some help, they may listen. I was sexually abused at 12 and am working through these issues now. It feels great to get it out after all these years. (26 now). I wish I had dealt with it earlier, as now I have alot of anxiety and other problems that maybe if I dealt with it earlier would not have.
Good luck and I never say this, God bless.

It could be normal teenage ups and downs but it could only help to have a professional counselor to guide you through your feelings and maybe suggest some books to help you understand yourself better and help you lead a happy and fulfilling life. Don't jump in with a psychiatrist right off the bat because they will just give you some feel good pills without addressing the issues that may be causing you to be so sensitive. See the psychologist first and they are experienced enough, that after they evaluate your condition they may then suggest that you see a psychiatrist for medication.

You could actually have a thyroid problem. You should see a doctor. If your parents won't listen, go to see your school guidance counselor and tell him/her that you are really concerned as well as the problems you descibed. Maybe the counselor could talk to your parents for you so that they know you have a legitimate concern.
It would also help if when you talk to your parents you tell them beforehand that you want to talk to them about something that is really concerning you. Sit down with them in a quiet place - no tv, etc - and tell them calmy how you feel and then ask them to help you. If they still won't listen, go to the guidance counselor.
I hope you get the help that you need.

I believe that you need to go to a spa and relax your just tense and maybe you need to see a phsychiatrist insted those people can help you with your probelms really well. I believe they can help you and i think you need to do teen stuff like go to the movies go swimming go to a spa every once in a while that'll help you relax and what will really help you is if you do yoga since people bother you sometimes you can buy a tape from wal-mart i bought a pilates tape it's great.

I think teenagers do go through many ups and downs, it's the hormones that have just been introduced into your body in a not so subtle way. However, you may be having a more acute case of it because of a chemical imbalance in your brain. There are many ways to overcome this but you need to speak to your physician first and let him/her know of all your concerns. He/she will be the best judge of your need to go into counseling.

if you dont want to see a counselor, you need to find some sort of outlet. when i was a teenager, i felt the same way, but never could find a way to express my feelings to other people. I ended up writing poems, short stories, etc to express what all i was feeling. talking to someone helps as well, but if you feel uncomfortable doing so, find other alternatives.

If you are concerned enough to ask I would say yes, even if it is to find out you don't really need one. Just be careful to feel comfortable with the counselor and check their credentials.

You might see your councilor, first. If that doesn't work, maybe a doctor. It may be just growing issues, but it sounds like a little more than that.
