Hi there!
The water diet really isn't a diet per say since water doesn't have any calories, meaning if you only drank it and nothing else, you would eventually die.
However, increasing your water intake is key in ANY diet for several reasons.
First, water is a macro nutrient, which means your body needs it in addition to minerals, vitamins, protein, carbohyrdrate, and fats.
Second, most people are usually dehydrated, which can lead to headaches weariness, and faux hunger. If your urine has a lot of color to it, you are dehydrated
Third, being well hydrated keeps you from retaining water weight.
Fourth, water helps your skin elasticity, which is key to looking young and having your skin shrink back as you lose weight.
Thus, keep water in your diet always. If you want to lose body fat and that is why you are asking the question, I will tell you what works for almost all of my clients.
Keep your calories to around 1500 per day. Try to take in five meals of about 300 calories each, which will keep your metabolism high. Then stay active; you don't have to sweat buckets, just move around - walk the dog, shop, play with kids, etc.
If you do this, you should see success within the week.
I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.
Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

Try the following : do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read fitness magazines, like Shape and Fitness for motivation and tips.
Good luck and stick at it.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. not sure what you mean by water diet, but if you were to drink an 8 ounce glass of ice water before every meal, it will make you fuller faster and curb your eating.
cold water can help up your body metabolism as well as help you flush out things that are attracted to your fat cells.
many people swear on the pill diets, there are many out there, but the truth is simple...they have you drink 8 ounces of water with every pill intake *usually before a meal.
Its not the pill that is helping you lose weight, its the 8 ounces of water!
So yes, the water diet works.
