I used to put peroxide in my hair, just a little every once in a while. It seemed like it brought out light blonde highlights in my hair and everyone thought it looked great. My hair is naturally medium brown, so when I wanted to make it look dark again, I dyed it. That was four months ago. The dye seems to have faded and it didn't have any metallic in it. Is it Ok if I put peroxide in my hair now to lighten it back up? It's not going to make my hair freakishly orange, will it? BEST answer gets points!!

i.Regualr skin perioxide chews the hair off and turns it really brassy.never use plain perioxide without the color added to it.They have blondie shades and the public beauty supply fairly cheap.Like a sallys and they help you in the store.you need a high lift tint

peroxide will only lift the color a little try using a level 40 peroxide in leave it in for 20 mins or so and if it isnt right keep checking it every 5-10 mins the blak will probably look like a dark or medium brown the medium browm in your hair will get lighter brown but i dont believe it will turn blond but next time you bleach it and it turns orange use a toner and it will take away the bright orange

Just limit the peroxide to strength 20- not 40. This should enable you to remove some of the colour (I assume you'll be only putting it in highlights and not over your whole head?). It shouldn't turn orange, just a golden blonde which will look fab with brown hair. I successfully platinum blonded my hair from dyed black (five years of dying black)- even though everyone told me it couldn't be done- it could!!

Make sure you do a really deep condition after you have bleached your hair.

Good luck and remember- only use strength 20!

yes it will be a awkward orange color because you have colored your hair previously to that . now if it was your true natural color then putting a little peroxide would be fine. your very best luck to get that sunkissed look is by going to a stylst you will never go wrong there and it wont be that expensive trust me you will love it tell him or her exactly what you want and you will get it Xs 10

It will most likely turn orangy. It's best that if you want to lighten up your hair, go to a salon. It will cost you more money but at the end you won't end up with orange hair.

It will def. turn orange...Don't do it.

Mine is orange now after trying to "fix" it in between coloring and growing out my natural color.
