Buy some toys that you can hide small treats inside... they sell them at almost any pet supply store. Believe me, that will keep him occupied for hours.
Hope I helped and Good Luck!

I've actually heard of giving the dog something that belongs to the person or people he is missing. Something that would have their smell on it, not something freshly cleaned. Maybe if you have the funds to care for another pup, you could get him a playmate. Either way I am sure he will probably get over in time, when he realizes they will come back. If it gets out of hand, you may need to speak with your vet. I also learned that the first thing you should do after adopting a dog is to get it home and comfortable and then leave it. Just for a short period of time. Keep repeating this and little by little add time to how long the dog is left alone. This helps them understand that you will come back and that you aren't abandoning it.

Seperation anxiety will pass with time. Just find him a playmate or some sort of wind up toy that he can chase around. Just like kids, pups need to be kept busy when awake.

It sounds like your dog has seperation anxiety. regardless, he can't be allowed to run around your house destorying everything. when you can't be around to supervise him, keep him in an exercise pen with a few toys and maybe a rawhide bone. I have to leave my dog alone for a lot of the day, and he eventually just settles into his crate and naps. But, he is a really small dog.

you can play with him scratch him and baby him h will be fine or you could take him to a dog sitter and when you go to pick up your kid from school pick him up on the way unless your kids rid a bus but still and if you dont have that much money then let a family member take care of him
