My roommate/best friend thinks it is unhealthy that I spend all of my time with my boyfriend.
I work a full time job and I go to school so I don't see him a lot except for my free time.

How is it unhealthy? You guys like each other alot so you WANT to spend time with each other. And OBVIOUSLY if you can't see him alot because of work and school, well yeah, who wouldn't spend time with there boyfriend or girlfriend in there free time? Jeezuz peezuz, yout roomate/best friend is the one who's being unhealthy, just by telling you that you spend too much time with your boyfriend in free time. BUT you could also spend time with your friends and your boyfriend. Like have a "double date" with your other friends or whatever. Or go to dinner, with your other "girlfriends" and there boyfriends. It's really fun and everyone is spending time with each other then.

It sounds like you don't have that much time so I can see how you would want to spend that time with your man. I think it is only unhealthy when you spend ALL your time with your man. I mean being together 24/7 will get old quick! Besides in a healthy relationship you both have separate lives, other friends you hang out with, separate hobbies! You don't want to loose who you are when you get in a relationship. If you are all about your man then when does your alone time come in, friend time, family time! Life and relationships need a good healthy balance!

That depends. Do you spend any time with your other friends? You really should. And does your bf not like it when you spend time with others? One of the first signs of an abusive relationship is when one person tries to isolate you from your friends and family. If he's very controlling and makes you feel guilty for spending time with others it might be unhealthy. If you're just neglecting your friends to spend all your time with the bf, you're just not being a good friend.

i think it's great....if you like being with him, spend as much time as you can. just don't let it get in the way of work, family and friends. They need you too. And as much as you may love this guy now, things can go bad and you will appreciate having some support down the road, but only if you didn't turn your back on them when you were with him. I think your friend is trying to tell you she misses spending time with you.

It is very unhealthy.
When you spend all free time with your boyfriend, you lose sense of self. Set aside a few hours a week for "you" time, so you can still do the things that YOU enjoy doing by yourself.
In a relationship you want to be your own person, otherwise you might as well date yourself.

Yes it is unhealthy! This is my reasoning for that. I've been married for 16 years & he was all that I had going for I thought. Lost all my friends, didn't go to school(college). Now I'm like the person he dreads to spend time with unless he has a sexual urge.

Spending too much time may wear out the relationship. So try to hang out with him 50% of the time and make some time with your friends too. Some friends may get jealous that you have a boy and that you are ignoring them for him.

Sounds like your friend feels a little neglected. Maybe you should take a step back & evaluate the situation. Don't forget your friends, they'll probably be around longer than him. It's hard to balance it all, but doing so will make for a healthier relationship while you still have your own idenity.

I spend every minute of free time with my husband. It has been this way for six years now and don't have any problems. It's very healthy. It means you really care about each other and want to be in each others company. I don't want to spend time with anyone else. Maybe your friends are jealous and they want you to hang out with them more.

Well usually it is unhealthy.
Considering that you do not have much free time I can understand, but do not forget about your friends... they want to spend time with you too. Make time for them.
