I always found Golf and Tennis to be boring to watch until I took them up, understood the game, and became an addict of playing both.

Another thing that helps is to go to a Golf or Tennis match in person. I think being there helps and if you are with someone that understands the game they will hopefully explain what's going on and the rules.

Watching them on TV can get real boring if you don't understand the game and/or know the players. TV commentators, as a rule, assume you know the game and seldom get into the rules or explain the game for new watchers.

Have somebody take you out to a golf course sometime when it's not busy and try playing. Yes it's difficult at first and can be frustrating, but most people who try it like it.

What a subjective and silly question? Just because you are bored does not in anyway categorize the sport itself. If you took the time to understand it, learn it and play it you would find it is one of the most interesting and addictive sport in the world. More people play golf than play football, baseball or basketball. Can all these people be crazy. Golf is booming as a spectator sport tickets for the masters are harder to get than super bowl tickets. Every PGA tournament is covered on TV, many other tournaments of lesser importance including the LPGA are on Network TV on a regular basis. There is a very successful cable channel dedicated exclusively to GOLF and there is more money spent on golf than any other sport in America. So who's right and Who's wrong about golf being boring.

Its not. I used to think it was, until I started playing the sport last year and stuck with it. I now shoot mid 80's and intend to get better. As for watching it, Tiger Woods is the best athlete to watch because he is a hard worker and is the best in the world. So in order to appreciate it, you have to either be open-minded or play the sport.

No, it is as exciting as any other sports. It makes my heart beat quickly when I saw my son hit it over a lake or over a hill. I was always afraid that he would lose, not the ball but the game. So if you understand it you would like it . Hope you can enjoy it.

It might be boring to watch(even though I don't agree with you), but play the game once and then ask yourself if it is a boring game to play.

It's not. If you took the time to understand the sport then maybe you would enjoy watching it.
