Potassium is not bad for you unless you consume too much. You should consume an equal amount of sodium and potassium because they work together. You need Potassium for your nervous system to function properly.
*A diet low in potassium and high in sodium may be one of the factors that leads to high blood pressure.
*Eating equal amounts of sodium and potassium is recommended.
*Athletes involved in hard exercise may require larger quantities of potassium-rich foods.
*Potassium is found in meats, milk, fruits and vegetables.

If you consume too much Potassium and do not exercise enough you could get Hyperkalemia. Here are some of the symptoms.
§Muscle fatigue
§Weakness
§Paralysis
§Abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
§Nausea

Potassium is necessary to properly function but must be consumed moderately just as any vitamin or mineral.

Potassium is not bad for you unless taken in large amounts and/or on an empty stomach. You should be more concerned with the sodium intake than potassium. :)

The LCs might be convenient but really you should look at the food as a whole. The more food is processed the less the nutritional value of it as a WHOLE. I wouldn't be worried about the potassium. I would watch the sodium but I would also look at what else is in the ingredients of the product. The best foods are the ones that have been the least processed. Those foods have all the phytonutrients that our bodies need.

You need potassium and sodium (salt), but like anything else, only in moderation.

If you are young and healthy with no medical problems, your body will compensate the imbalance, but as you get older it's a very good idea to avoid processed and fast foods. Why? Because they are extremely high in salt, hydrogenated fats and quite often refined sugars all of which lead to a plethora of medical illnesses.

Anything in moderation is the key to a healthy diet, but potassium is not bad for you. It's in many foods and is good for your body.

It is serious. It happened to me years ago when I was dieting & believe me, it was not pleasant. You can feel extremely weak, dizzy & light-headed as well as tired & just plain lousy. Start drinking more water & also pure,100% orange or grapefruit juice is good. You should get back on track if you eat & drink normally. Potassium is very important to the body. It is very serious to be dehydrated as it can be a sign of illness or injury. You might lose more than just potassium to dehydration, you could lose other electrolytes too.

potassium and sodium salts ARE the preservatives in them

diets very high in potassium and sodium have been linked to high blood pressure, but both are essential minerals needed to live. So stay within the %recommended values on the nutrition labels and you'll be fine.
