Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, bacteria that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive. Then, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. Reheating the rice won't get rid of these toxins.
So, the longer cooked rice is left at room temperature, the more likely it is that bacteria, or the toxins they produce, could stop the rice being safe to eat.
It's best to serve rice when it has just been cooked. If that isn't possible, cool the rice as quickly as possible (ideally within one hour) and keep it in the fridge for no more than one day until reheating.
Remember that when you reheat any food, you should always check that it's piping hot all the way through, and avoid reheating more than once.

yeah, same here. but lately i am only able to leave it in the cooker for 2 days and then it starts rotting. it's not like you can see the fungus, more like you can smell a stench every time you open it. and it makes me nauseous trying to eat it. so, i would leave it in the cooker for 2 days and then put it in a covered bowl in or out of the frig.

I think that a couple of days is fine; but it will start turning yellow on you. It's better to make enough and then (by the next day) place it in sealed plastic bags and either refrigerate or freeze; it easily enough to reheat in a microwave.

you can leave it in for quite a while if it has a warmer function on it. I just kind of keep refilling mine whenever its low, though I probably should clean it out one of these days...
