To have fought in WWII as a regular soldier, and depending on which side, you would have to have been at least 16 years old in 1945. So, in theory the youngest living soldier from that conflict would be around 76 years old. Anyone older than that could have taken part so there is probably quite a significant number of them still around.

Not many - they are dying like 1 every 15 minutes according to the D-Day museum in Bedford, VA

A large considerable number. Although most will be pushing eighty.

Unlike veterans from WWI there's about two left, I know one died recently.
