There is a definate link. The chemicals your body makes to defend anxiety and stress is corticol, it makes the body work harder to get rid of it, making you feel run down.

Yep. At least according to the books I have read. Anxiety helps produce an adrenaline or cortisol spurt, which raises blood sugar to help deal with the cause of the anxiety.

Then, when blood sugar is elevated, insulin comes along to lower it (at the brain's request), and may (in maybe as many as 75% of Americans) overproduce, putting too much sugar in the cells, causing the brain to have too little. The brain then may slow down, leaving one feeling flat and low. It could also start another anxiety spiral.

www.hufa.org has some basic information about low blood sugar.

Yes, and you can even develop a condition in very stressful situations known as 'acute anxiety ' which makes you feel like c**p x 100! Shaky, unable to eat or sleep, crying all the time - if it gets this bad you need to see the doc for some tablets to straighten you out.

When stressed many of your muscles tense up, and this tension burns fuel (carbs) in the muscles.

Burnt fuel (lactic acid, and other stuff) builds up in the muscle, and is painful... Only when it shifts do you feel better.

If you are tense all the time - you have pain - its the same reason why you hurt after lifting weights. Its okay if you give your body time to recover, but stress all the time, will kill you...

Unsure, but perhaps it's your body's way of telling you to take it easy for a bit.

It like pain should be your body's way of warning you that you've damaged something and keeping it still and unstressed will help it heal faster.
