There are two distinct possibilities:
1. God is a sick, sadistic creator who has created us all for the sheer pleasure of watching us suffer.
=OR=
2. God does not exist.
I find it easier to live with the certainty of the latter answer rather than having to endure the sheer despair of the former.

God made Adam and Eve perfect. No suffering. Then Adam and Eve sinned (disobeying what God had told them to do or not to do). That was when pain and suffering entered the world. It was not put on us by God but we put it on ourselves. So you may ask why we suffer if Adam and Eve caused this in the first place. Well...have you ever gone a day without sin? Have your children ever gone a day without sinning? Even as infants we are being selfish, born with a sinful nature. Thankfully, God sent his son Jesus (this isn't a myth but historically accurate) to pay the penalty for sin and now though we suffer on earth because we live in a sin filled world, we do have eternal peace to look forward to after death instead of the eternal death and judgment that God specifically made for the devil and his angels that disobeyed God long before Adam and Eve ever did. Next time you think about the suffering we go through daily, think of the suffering Jesus Christ went through to save your soul. I believe this with all of my heart and have accepted it openly but I also deal with a lot of pain and suffering. I don't blame it on God, I just ask for His peace to deal with it while I'm still here.

Suffering comes from sin. Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed in the garden. And, as a mother, be fair. If your child makes some unwise choices, that child is going to suffer the consequences of them, correct? Hence.....the world the way it looks now.

All suffering is a result of sin. Before sin, there was no suffering. But God uses all things, even suffering to bring people to himself. What do you mean by suffer? How do you suffer? You are sitting at home in front of a computer, in a house with food and clothes, you or your husband probably have a job and are paying for food, clothes, the internet? I don't see your suffering. Are you a poor african child with no food, no water, no clothes, in africa (with a computer)? I doubt it. So quit your complaining. Also, God let his Son, Jesus, suffer and die on the cross, so that through his blood all people could go to heaven who call and believe in his name. That's the love of a God to a people who can care less about him. He's the one who suffers the most, not us. He has been seeking a relationship with people and has given everything for them, and how do people repay him? Blaspheming him openly on yahoo, rejecting his laws, saying that he didn't make the universe, that we basically created ourselves. And yet his compassion is everlasting. If I were God, (which thank God I am not) I would have wiped away all the blasphemers and punished them royally. Be thankful for what you have.

God is our creator and we are his slaves. It is not a father_chiled relationship.
God is merciful, but he also makes us suffer 4 many reasons.
To erase some of our sins, to test us.
4 instance look up how the prophets suffered 2 spread Faith. How Jesus suffered by his ppl, how Muhammad was kicked out of his land, ppl throw rocks on him until he bled from the head. When Noah build the ship he was mocked by his tribe.
by the way in Islam you can find that the poor ppl enter heaven b4 the rich coz they suffered more.

He gave us a choice and because we are of a selfish nature we chose sin. He did not want to see us suffer but like a child who has done something naughty we have been punished so that in the next life we will have learnt our lesson. I am a mother as well and I wish everyday that the suffering would end for all human kind -he has placed a condition upon on us- if we wish to be forgiven for our sins we must follow in the foot steps of his son and live everyday following his word. We don't want to see our children suffer but sometimes in order for them to understand- punishment is necessary. Hopefully we get it right next time around-It is not for us to judge god's actions but to have faith that his decisions are made based on whats best for all of us. When your kids are teens you may ground them when they come home late-they won't like it -but they no better than to question your authority and they know deep down that you are only looking out for their best interest. Everything has already been planned and set in stone by God and all for one particular reason so that by the time this world is coming to an end there will be more people than ever who have been saved through his son and they will join him in heaven for eternity.

In my opinion there are 2 explanations: 1)God does not exist and the thing with good and evil it's in our mind,so God is only a myth like the Greek gods, and we were brought here by aliens who now maybe don't wanna care about us anymore; 2)God does exist but he let us suffer because in these days the world became so crazy, there are wars, many crimes and lot evil around us.

So would you give your child anything that he/she wants?
Would you allow them to do anything they want?
Even you knew that their choices would hurt them or cause them great pain?
Why are we suffering? Mankind has tried to answer that question for millenia. Great philosophers and theologians have wrestled with this, most to no avail.
The conclusions that you draw will largely depend on your starting point. If you believe that man's nature is basically good with the potential to be evil then you will have problems reconciling your conclusions with reality. If you believe that man's nature is basically evil with the potential to be good then it is much easier to understand.
Sin is disobedience to God's laws and commandments; which are not grievous, but are His laws because they are morally right and just. Every civilization has asserted from the beginning of time that there are moral truths, and from those truths came laws; there are certain actions that are NOT acceptable among civilized human beings. The Bible asserts that all mankind has sinned, there is not one righteous, no not one!
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
And the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Death is separation; not the end of life. The first death is separation from God which results the moment that the young child disobeys God, that is, when they reach the age that they know they are disobeying.
According to the Bible. some suffering is because of our previous sin. Confession of sin rectifies the eternal consequences of that sin, however, the immediate consequences and effects of that sin continue in this life.
Some suffering is simply sent by God to offer us a chance to grow in knowledge, faith, patience, etc.; the Christian graces. It is an opportunity that God brings into our lives to draw us closer to Him; and we, by faith and choice, either choose to draw closer to Him and rely on His mercy, or we further rebel against His will.
So look at suffering and adversity as an opportunity from God to grow; search diligently for what it is that He wants you to learn from each experience and instance of suffering.

Job suffered greatly. But at no point did God fail him. God didn't promise us a easy life. Christ even said if you follow him that you would be persecuted. But remember this, like E. V. Hill use to preach "This ain't it!" We are only here for a short while. Lets learn from our trials and tribulations and realize that they will just make us better servants in the long run. Praise be to a God and Savior that never forsakes us.

That is the most important question asked here. Religious apologists will give you answers like "read the Book of Job" in the Bible. Same question there.
I have had two direct experiences with what some call God. I call It "The Ineffable Light." From my experiences (and I only speak from my experiences), The Light does not much get involved in the day-to-day operation of the world. That is human stuff. It is our reaction to our stimuli. The Light is still there, waiting. And It is also within us, as well. My experiences showed me that The Light was pure love but It was also waiting for me to reunite with It.
That is just how I experienced it. God is not human, limited as we are. Yet, we are all part of God. Beats me as to how to explain it any better.

We suffer because we want.
Our thoughts come to be. Our mind is very powerful. What you think becomes, what you fear becomes, what you want becomes, If we would see the positive side of everything our lives would be better. If you think bad, bad happens. Try to always have positive thoughts and if you find yourself thinking negative tell yourself to stop and think good things, good thoughts only. Think of GOD if you want or anything other that makes you feel good.
People say things like.... don't go out with out a sweater 'cuz you'll get a cold. It actually happens because it's what is believed , but if you think yourself to always be healthy and you don't accept those negative thoughts then it doesn't matter if you go out into the cold in the nude , it just wont happen.
We are the makers of our life, we make the choices.
Peace and love your way.
