we just started dating and things are kind of awkward so what are good conversation starters? not sex wise

I usually say hi honey and ask how his day at work was- then we talk about does he have plans (but since he lives with me it never happens on the phone). Then we talk before i make dinner!

Ask him questions about himself. How are you today? How is your day going? That way he knows that you care about him and it can also lead to a good conversation.

a good start is always to let the person speaks about himself... Ask him questions about himself (light questions, of course). No one ever gets bored on talking about himself.
