GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results.

I don't think that coconut oil will help, but what will, is keeping your self healthy. Take vitamins and eat right. Also trim your hair every 6 weeks or so. This may seem to be a step back, but trimming off your damaged ends will help the hair grow longer, because your keeping your hair from being damaged any further!!
Keep it hydrated and protect it from the sun and wind, and you hair should be long in no time!!

Most ladies who use coconut oil, use it as a sealent. So after you have applied your moisturizer your rub coconut oil on your ends and coat the shaft to seal in the moisturizer which promotes growth-having healthy moisturizered hair. Its not actually the coconut oil itself. However, jojoba oil is better because it is virtually identical to sebum, which is secreted by the human sebaceous glands. Sebum is nature's way of lubricating and protecting the skin and hair. So using jojoba oil is closer to using the oils that your skin already secretes. I have used both and find jojoba oil to work better for me.

yeah i have heard that too!!!!
Also, i would keep your hair tied up (if it is long enough of course) i have heard that makes hair longer. i actually did it, and it worked...
be sure to trim it every now and then, just half an inch or so, and it will grow faster!
