NEVER! EVER! Back up. In most states, and countries, this is against the law. Drive to the next exit, and get off. If you cannot find your way back on surface streets, just turn around and get back on the freeway in the opposite direction. Then exit the freeway.

Say you were going East and you wanted to get off at Exit 70 and you miss it ... Just go to Exit 72 or whatever is the next exit ... Get off there ... Turn into a gas station or something to turn around ... Then get back on the interstate going West until you get back to Exit 70 :) Glad to help ya!

I would suggest backing up to the exit....lol No on a serious note if you get off and get back on you will be just ahead of the exit...I think. At least that the way it works in Baltimore
