Samuel Smiths Pure Brerw is the best British lager by a long way, people saying the brand name garbage need a lesson.

Try the Captain Kidd pub in Wapping, nice pub and they do all the Sam Smiths Brews, it's mantastic.

If you like Ales (I know I do) Fullers, Young's and skinners all do a nice drop.

It is matter of taste, of course, but how about Theakston, Boddington's, Wherry, Greene King (Abbot) beer, and above all Fuller's ESB (necessarily in lslightly smaller quantities.

I think that the best beers come from the smaller breweries, rather than the national giants, who seem to be out to try and change out tastes: and shame on them!

Old Eli brewed only for The Sair in Linthwaite, West Yorkshire.
Failing that, March Haigh, brewed at and only for The Riverhead Tap in Marsden, West Yorkshire.

Hi there! When I was in Hamburg, my friends and I went to a bar there, and I had a fruit beer...not sure on the name of it, but it was really good. Wish I could find out what it was and if I can buy it here in the states. =) Yum!

There are loads of good beers - I like Timothy Taylors Landlord bitter - brewed in Yorkshire. Stella might be good, but it's not British (& it's lager)

Not sure if you're after an English beer or not? My favourite beer is Hoegaarden, but its actually Belgian. You can buy it in this country though.
