you can buy wax desolver over the counter. But if you have health insurance and want a quick solution, make a doctor's appointment. They have this nifty little machine that will clean it out in just seconds. I don't think I would use peroxide, it won't desolve the wax.

I've had plugged ears on occasion (sometimes for a few weeks, even with some ear pain [this occasion was due to water]) In my experience these things usually self-correct in time, but I do buy ear stuff over the counter-- let's see, in my medicine cabinet right now I have the CVS brand, called "Earwax Removal Aid" and it's carbamide peroxide 6.5%. I'm assuming you don't have ear pain, discharge, or an injury, right? There's a good name brand one, too, if you don't trust store brands, that may come with a little blue billows bulby thing. This has worked great for me. Sometimes I just use the bulby thing with rather warm water and lean over the tub. A few tries at this, letting the warm water sit in there for a bit, and then letting the ear drain out well usually does the trick. Sheesh! Some folks will run to the doctor for ANYTHING-- I'd try this first, personally..... But if some MD weighs in, well, listen to him.

Peroxide is good. Do NOT try to clean it with qtips... you'll drive the bockage in deeper.
Yuo can get a "swimmer's ear" kit from the drug store. It's a thicker version of peroxide with a special rinsing squeezie (sorry I don't know the name). You put several drops of the medicne in your ear, wait a few minutes, and then flush well with warm water in the squeezie thing.
If it gets worse, doesn't go away, or starts to become painful SEE A DOCTOR. Ear infections can get out ofcontrol if not treated.

My daughter was born with cleft lip cleft palate and she was prone to middle ear infections; the ent would have me to mix an equal amount of vinagar to an equal amount of warm water, put enough of this mixture into ear canal to completely fill the ear then use an ear sringe which you can purchase at any pharmacy or in most places wal-mart also carries them. Just leave this solution inside the ear approx. 10 minutes then suction out! Repeat once or twice a day for 3 days! It should help!

Ideally, if it is on the outside of your ear drum what you want to do is get in the shower and blast really warm water into it. They sell big syringes that force water in (obviously no needle) and the gunk will dislodge and come out.
You can go to the store and by those blue bulbs that suck snot out of babies noses and use that as a water blaster if your shower is working for you.
Don't use q-tips as you are just mashing it in more.
Now if its in the inner ear, take a regiment of allergy meds. Stuff that stops runny noses. Stuff that will dry you up. Do that for a week and it should unplug.
Best of luck

It's normally caused by excessive wax buildup. Best method to clear it is to use a super sized syringe and hot hot hot water. Blast the hot water into your ear, eventually a nasty lump of wax will pop out.

use one of those base nose cleaners ( a new one ) and squirt warm water into the ear, it will loosen the wax and make it easier to clean, for a temporary fix you can chew gun or try yawning
