I'm on my third Corolla. I bought all of them used with pretty high mileage (about 90,000). I paid between $3,000-4,000 for each of them.
They last forever, driving-wise. I replaced the first one only because the body was rusting out (at almost 200,000). I replaced the second one only because its particular year was valuable to thieves and it kept getting broken into.
