GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results.

during the summer I wear quick weaves. I will change it up every week or so. In between I keep it washed, but no perms. I think last time I went 4 months that way. I will say by the time October comes I will take the quick weave down, wash my hair really well. On the next day, sinc u have to wait 24 hours after shampoo to do perm, I will base my scalp with Sensitive Scalp and get a perm. The perm is going to take so well and it will have lenght cause under the weave it has nothing else to do but grow. No chemicals have been on it and it has been clean. Only thing with the weave is MAY SURE YOU TAKE THEM OUT CORRECTLY. There is bond remover, I've heard of oil being used, even wash it and let the conditioner sit until they slide out.

Drink lots of water, take vitamins (biotin, msm, flaxseed oil), wash your hair at least once week, and keep it moisturized. Water and moisturizer are the key.
Braids also help with growth because you're not manipulating your hair with heat and combing. When you are applying heat, use some type of heat protectant (dudley's creme press is good) before blow drying, flat ironing basically any type of heat being applied needs this.
Protein treatments are good too. I do one, once a month. I use nexxus emergence and it works really well. This gives hair strength and structure.
After applying moisturizer ( I use S curl) you can seal your hair with a oil to lock it in. I use jojoba oil but coconut oil is popular as well. I suggest you join a hair board for african americans/naturals.
This is a good one. www.longhaircareforum.com

I once colored my hair and some of it ended up falling out! I had a thin spot at the back of my head and I wanted to make it grow back ASAP. My hair grew back quickly when I used DOO GRO products. They have hair grease, oil moisturizer (kinda like Pink Oil), shampoos, conditioners, etc. Also wash your hair often and brush it so that your hair follicles get stimulated.

My girlfriend was African American and she had really pretty hair. She used really good conditioner to keep it moisturized well. She also wrapped it every night when she slept. She told me that her hair was more fragile to damage and I guess that is why she did it. She also used "Pink" oil sheen to put extra moisture in it.

you just grow it out to the length you want it cutting it every 3-4 months to prevent split ends, but only take off about 1/4-1/2 of an inch so it will get longer.

Prenatal vitamins work very well! My hairdresser tells his clients to take them (they work on all kinds of hair)! Good luck.
