I like them but you can't get the smell out of the house for days and days. I will always remember going to look at a flat to rent and when the lady opened the door it stank of kippers, she apologised and said they had eaten them 3 days before, but the smell was still lingering. I did not rent that flat!

boil in the bag kippers? I thought it was herring unless you kipper it..at which point it no longer needs boiling..but i don't know

eat them by themselves, heat them in the microwave, I am lucky I live near Craster so I get Craster Kippers often. MMMmmmm

On their own or with new potatoes and peas. Next time get a proper one from a fishmonger and grill it. It's worth the effort.
