Good question!!! I have always wondered what the evolutionary explanation is for plant life also.

Simply by positing that the answer will be "imaginary" shows that you do not intend to take any answer seriously. Just in case you're wondering why there aren't too many people interested in answering you. Why waste their time when you are only going to ignore the answer?
If you are familiar with the theory of evolution, then you would already be able to think of a possible scenerio under which the "first" plant cell could come about (although it is probably not very similar to what we now think of as plants).
If you want a detailed, technical explanation on some of the major theories of plant evolution, then I suggest you take the advice of a previous poster and read some scientific articles, and perhaps some textbooks, on the subject.

People that ask these sorts of questions in this room aren't actually looking for a scientific answer. By calling it an "imaginary scenario" you are showing your bias. If you really want a good answer, or links to a good answer, post it in a Biology room.
My observation is that your type just want to rant about any of the gaps in evolutionary thinking, so that they can where ever you perceive science doesn't have the answer. This is a false dichotomy, as if science can't explain something (and there are lots of things we can't explain) it doesn't automatically mean that the only other answer is that god did it.
So, I for one, refuse to even attempt to answer your question, as it is a forgone conclusion that you will reject it, it if doesn't conform to your narrow biblical world view. I feel sorry for you.
If you really want to know, there are lots of websites, and books...but that would involve some actual work on your part, and most theists are fairly lazy when it comes to that.

By the argumental stance of your question I doubt you would consider any reasonable response.
This is the first site results of a simple search for anyone who is truly intersted in researching the subject.

Since Christianity in essense is spiritual and evolution is physical why is it hard to just to relate the answer w/o just referring to a research site?

The best guess is that there was total darkness, then plants, depite requiring sunlight poofed into existance. Then sunlight came later.

We cannot explain this anymore than you can explain how God used dirt (dust) to create you.
