talk to him, it'll take the pressure that's been building up for him, off the whole situation. If you go talk to him about school, work, the party, a movie coming up, the music that's playing, whatever you can think of, it'll make it alot easier for the guy to be able to get the nerve to start talking to you more freely. Some guys really like when a girl can take charge of the situation and make the first move, they are always afraid of rejection. Go for it girl, its really not that hard, just remember to not put that much pressure on yourselves, and have fun...all the best!

Go talk to him. If you don't want to come straight out and say you like him or be that forward just open the lines of communication. Ask him for a piece of gum if you know he has it, comment on his reading material, something along those lines. Alot of times a shy guy will open up when he feels more comfortable with the person he is talking to.

Talk to him first. Go up to him the first couple of times and the next time you see him, wait and see if HE goes up to you. If he does, he's probably interested in getting to know you better. If he doesn't, he may not be interested after all, unless he's really REALLY shy. You gotta be patient with shy guys, it takes them a while for them to relax and become comfortable around you.

Impossible. Because by definition if he is shy he won't talk to you first. I suggest you keep talking to him until he isn't shy anymore. If you get tired of that, go see if someone else will talk to you first or find another shy person and repeat step one above. Hmmmmm

Unfortunately, you can't. Sometimes it takes the lady speaking to break the ice. Give it time if you like this person -- it may take a bit for the poor fellow to open up and relax.
To Eve: LMAO!! He will probably enjoy this, but it may also drive him further into embarassment. Good thought, though.

You shouldnt have to. If you like him and want to talk to him.. go for it. If you wait around for a shy guy to talk to you , you might be waiting forever. Even if he is interested, if he does not know how to approach you, he most likely wont.

Find out about what he likes-- if he's shy, then get him to talk about HIM.. that way- he wont have to ask you anything at first. Just say "Hi.... I just got this cd... do you like them? What music do YOU like? ".... and take it from there.
