The story of Adam & Eve eating the forbidden fruit is a parable of the human condition. We as humans are never satisfied with what we have, we always want more. And if it is forbidden that makes it even more enticing. as a modern day example, bake a cake in a house with a child. Tell the child you can look at the cake, you can smell the cake but you can't taste the cake... it is for a bake sale... have a cookie instead. What is even the most obediant child going to do? Stick his finger in the icing for a "tiny taste"

Foreknowledge does not mean He forced them into their actions. God is beyond time and therefore everything we know as past and future is now to God. He knew that, man, allowed to make decisions on his own, will naturally seek that which pleases himself, without considering the cost. God gave them free will to choose to obey or not.
Look at it this way, say you have a child and you place a plate of cookies on a table. You instruct him to not take one otherwise he will suffer for it. You leave the room. What do think that child will do? He will do what pleases him and worry about the consequences later. Did his parent force him into that action? Did the parent know what would probably happen? Did the child have a choice in his actions? Who is responsible for the act of disobedience?

If God had not given Adam and Eve the choice, they would have essentially been robots, simply doing what they were programmed to do. God created Adam and Eve to be “free” beings, able to make decisions, able to choose between good and evil. In order for Adam and Eve to truly be “free” – they had to have a choice.

It's religion. It doesn't have to make sense.
Again, this was written like that because just making Adam and Eve and letting them live happily ever after wouldn't sell as well. You need characters making wrong decisions and having bad things happen to them. Otherwise, it's not much of a fairytale.

God is not Cruel, Yes he knew what Adam & Eve would do, But God being a JUST GOD, all his creations has to be tested, God already knows what route all will take, So because by his foreknowledge, God did PREDESTINATE every situtaion, therefore God gave all a free will, But God knowing with that free will what man will do, he had to test them. Satan was even tested, Satan was one of the greatest angels in heaven at the beginning of time until iniquity was found in him. God even knew that. God is a Just God.

God, the Creator of all things, has every right as the creator, to decide what the ground rules of life and existence will be. That is part of His sovereignty. He could have DEMANDED that His creation simply obey Him out of fear, but He chose to provide man with two things no other part of this creation on earth had, a reasoning mind, and the free will to choose.
God wants obedience out of love, not by force! If God had created all that He did yet did not allow man to have free choice, then God would have been forced to condemn those of mankind who sinned against Him and His law to hell, the grave, death, and eventually separation from Him and all that is good for eternity. And that would make God guilty!
But instead, God chose to give men and women the same "free will" that He exercises. He has given us several different means of being able to learn of His existence: nature, the Bible, the testimonies of those who believe, etc. BUT, the best is that He has given you and I the mental capacity to think through the evidence and come to our own conclusion, and thereby we can exercise the free will He has granted us, accept His gracious gift in love, or reject it (for whatever reason we choose, it makes no difference what that reason is). And that makes you and I 100% responsible for researching the evidence, reaching our conclusions, acting upon those conclusions, and makes us 100% RESPONSIBLE for our future destination, and therefore, makes God just!
God needs no magnifying glass to "spy" on us "ants". He is everywhere, all the time, and He knows our thoughts, sees our actions, and fore-knows what choices we will make, yet He remains faithful in presenting to each and every one of us, even in forums like this, the truth of His existence and His plan for mankind. Is this your last opportunity to accept or reject?

It amazes me that some people think that God is some maniacal puppeteer making people do the things He wants. God gave us a most amazing gift - free will, choice. You chose to believe in Him or not. Even more amazing is that people tend to blame God when they don't get what they want. If like were this perfect utopia where nothing could go wrong, what good would it do to have free will? We'd be nothing more than sheep roaming an endless grassland with no carnivores around to make life interesting.

Please read this, hope it will enlighten.
19 And after Adam and Eve had partaken of the forbidden fruit they were driven out of the garden of Eden, to till the earth.
20 And they have brought forth children; yea, even the family of all the earth.
21 And the days of the children of men were prolonged, according to the will of God, that they might repent while in the flesh; wherefore, their state became a state of probation, and their time was lengthened, according to the commandments which the Lord God gave unto the children of men. For he gave commandment that all men must repent; for he showed unto all men that they were lost, because of the transgression of their parents.
22 And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remained forever, and had no end.
23 And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.
24 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.
26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.
27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

Who knows what Gods plan is? We are only getting a human perspective of event. As human beings we are far from truely understanding the nature of life. As human being we need things to be explained in order for us to have some stability to our lives. Without stability our productivity can decline to a very dark place. Really what is a more interesting question is what is GOD?
