The Marines do not accept you with a GED, but on occasion there are openings for those with alternative high school credentials The Army does if you meet other qualifications. So does the Navy. The Coast Guard also requires qualifications if you have a GED.
A diploma is a sign to the Military Branches that you are disciplined and can learn in a group format and on a timeline. However the branches do recognize that sometimes people chose GED tdue to personal reasons. There for most will accept you if you meet all other qualifing factors.
Hope this helps.
