Go to the library and find a PDR. (Physician's Desk Reference) It has pictures of what medicines look like. Lortab is a brand name for a drug called hydrocodone. It is called many different things depending on what pharmacy makes it. It is also called Vicodin. Hydrocodone comes in many strengths and is used with aspirin, Tylenol or ibuprofen in it. The hydrocodone will be the smaller number ie;
5/500. The 5 is hydrocodone. the 500 is Tylenol or aspirin. There is also the word Apap which is attached to the hydrocodone. I would first ask my son. Let him know you found it and are concerned as you should be. This drug has become a drug of choice for many teenagers. Watch your own medicine cabinet. Don't leave anything prescription around. Good luck.

lortab can be either pink or white. i agree though, your friend is right.

the pill you have is a generic version of lortab. precisely you have the kind that is 500 mg of acetaminophen and 10 mg hydrocodone. hydrocodone is a narcotic, and is extremely dangerous. it's habit-forming and besides that, when taken with alcohol it is deadly. if your son isn't in any pain, i suggest that you talk to him immediately about it. i'm a medical student, and i've seen so many patients who have started out taking lortab for pain relief, and then moved onto to more dangerous drugs like heroin.

Good luck to you, and I hope that what I wrote helps...

Have you looked up vicadin(sp)?

Okay, you are like obsessed! Have you tried calling your doctor's office, asking for a nurse, and asking THEM what it is? They should know.
