You should report this abuse to your state's child/family services. They will then investigate and if the allegation is true, parental rights of the guilty person can be terminated and the children given to the nearest next of kin through both the divorce and child/family law courts.

Did you see this happen?
Did your friend? Or is this something made up to get custody.
If it's true and there's a pattern of neglect on the mom's part, AND if the dad has been seeing the kid and paying child s upport,
The court might award him at least temporary custody. As for the other one, she/he might have to go into foster care until she straightens out..

Foster care. There was a couple here in Dallas that just went through that and the foster parent killed their child. It's bull crap that they get sent to foster homes over pot even though I don't condone the use of it. I hope that the part of her blowing it in the kids face is just a way to make it seem worse, but there is your answer.

Sounds like that the children will go into a foster home or nearest relative. If one or both parents clean up they go back to mom or dad depending on the circumstances.

If the mother is on drugs the other parent, or family member, or foster care would get the children. DHS will take your kids if you are on drugs>

I would think that the other kid would go with it's other natural parent as long as they were not doing drugs too.

Dad, if the dad is not found suitable, then grandparents or aunts or uncles. Someone in the family, if no one in the family is suitable, then it will go into foster care.

dads get first dibs, but I wonder if a family member is willing to take them both if they would place the kids there so they are both together.
