You are not crazy.
Your kids love it, you spent quality time putting up the decorations with them, had fun, and made wonderful childhood memories for them.
That makes you one special mom!
Happy Halloween!

Go for it, extend the season, the stores sure do, Hobby lobby and Big lots have Xmas and Halloween out now, Hallmark puts their ornament collection out in July!
I started Xmas a few years ago at Halloween, I was literally putting ornaments on the tree as I was answering the door for the trick or treaters, I was home recouping from major surgery, and it was the year of 09/11 and was bored out of my mind, and feeling the effects of 9/11. I decided I needed Xmas.. I carried the tree and ornaments up stairs a little at a time [I have a huge non-pre-lit tree with individual branches, 1300 lights, and collectable, individually wrapped collector's ornaments, so it takes a while to set up], and why waste the time? One year I left the tree up until April. And speaking of overkill, I have three big trees, and 2 small ones.
And I need to go downstairs today and find my fall/halloween wreath for the door.
I go to the stores and buy whatever season they have out, as soon as it goes out. If you don't, you lose out, it gets picked over really fast, and you might miss something you really wanted.
So decorate away, and you can use the extra time to make and do more, make halloween yummies, make cards for the family, make more decorations. Hubby will stop griping when he gets some treats. And the kids will love it, they will be really revved up when the day finally gets here. By the way, every kid in the nieghborhood knows this is the place for halloween, I put the lights out early, and lite them on the weekends, and early in the eve, so they see them on the way home from school.
Happy not too early trick-or- treat! I can't have trick or treat this year, I have to work. Have an extra fun day for me!

No! Not at all..any mom that cares this much about how her young children feel about spending time together..go for it! Who cares what other people think! I would start on Christmas if it meant just as much..I do think thatThanksgiving should be over before Christmas decor, but only because it is a reminder of ALL the money I am about to spend on my 6 and 8 year old daughters! Have fun!

It's not too early if it's something you and your family enjoy doing together. Halloween is only a little over 45 days away. We've already pulled all of our stuff out and started pulling out just our favorites. Since stuff is out in the stores, we've bought some new additions. People start decorating for Christmas early, why not Halloween too?? Just do what makes you and your kids happy and who cares about anyone else.

I got a flyer in the mail for costumes today. So it not to earlier to start planning for Halloween, especially if you really into it.
For the kids, I just hope they don't get too impatient, for a 3 and 7 year old more than six weeks can seem like forever. I think it would be hard for me to maintain the level of excitement, then again I think my avatar is already in costume.
You need to think about a costume for your avatar.

I think you should wait until Oct. at least. Otherwise, by the time Halloween actually gets here, you're already sick of it and the kids are bored with it. Maybe you could try decorating in a fall theme and then changing to a Halloween theme in Oct.

No. My youngest daughter lives for Halloween. It is her favorite holiday. Christmas is second. She has hung all the lights, skeletons, bats and has put out the witches pot! She will keep adding until the day gets here. She wants to carve the pumpkins now but told her to wait.

Wait until October 1, otherwise by Halloween it won't feel as special.
