Heat some vegetable oil in a pan. Add a pat of butter to the oil. Once the butter starts foaming, throw in some diced onions. Saute the onions until they're translucent and start to brown. Add some diced potatoes and saute those until they are cooked and browned. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add the corned beef, mix into the potatoes and onions. Then use your spatula to flatten it down into a pancake looking shape. Turn your heat up. Let it brown on the underside for at least 10 minutes. Then use your spatula to cut the pancake into 4 quarters. Flip each quarter and let it brown on the other side. Once it's browned, turn the heat off, mix it up if you want and served with fried eggs. Happy cooking!

This is just the recipe we use at home but we like it

fry a finely diced onion in a small amount of oil until well browned and then put to one side.
boil a large saucepan of potatoes until cooked and then mash with butter, salt and pepper to taste.
put mash, onions and 1 and a half cans of corned beef (cut into chunks) into a large bowl and mix until the corned beef is fairly evenly spread (big chunks are a nice surprise though!)
chuck it all in an ovenproof dish and pop a couple of blobs of butter on top
bang it in a hot oven until the top goes crispy.
serve with peas and nice bread and butter,
lip smacking gorgeous

I don't I make beef hash it,s most likely the same thing only I use a cooked pot roast instead of corned beef.
You use pot. onion and meat cut in small piece's and grind them up together in a big dish, put in casserole use pot roast gravy or a big jar of beef gravy, put in 350-400 oven cook 45 min.or until steaming.
cook fryed eggs and put on top of hash, it is so good.
