I'm hoping it's a play on good cop, bad cop. Pakistan is playing the good cop. They want the Taliban to regroup in a place of their choosing. Will it work? It will probably get the want-to-bes to go there as if it was a yacht club.

I don't think the original Taliban are in Afghanistan. They are requiting people in Pakistan to fight the battles for them. Remember in Tora Bora, they fled and had their brain washed recruits offer a diversion. The real Taliban aren't fighters, they are recruiters.

Well...Pakistan...had made a treaty with the terrorists it supported.....! After 9/11 Pakistan had no choice but to support US on war on terrorism and denounce Taliban and Al Qaeda...but now since the hunt for Osama bin Laden is on a completely wrong track and is worn down...Pakistan is making peace treaty with the terrorists so that it doesn't have to fight them and can use them to create trouble inside Afghanistan and India. pakistan's justification that the terrorists will not cross Afghanistan and do cross border terrorism...is just a big mistake...The Taliban and Al Qaeda will not miss a chance to kill american soldiers...

PAKISTAN HAS MADE A TREATY WITH THE DEVIL....IT WORSHIPS.!

Yeah we'll see how long that last, hah! The Taliban guy probably went back to his hut and wiped his azz with the treaty all the while laughing at how stupid the Pakistan leaders are.

pakistani politics is complex. gotta keep the $ coming in from America yet gotta keep the Muslim street happy. Must support war on terror yet must support madrassas and Taliban.

there is no need for pakistan to sign a treaty with terrorists. they already have many hidden treaties with pakistan. rather than sighning treaties with terrorists , pakistan should concentrate on how to eliminate terrorists from that region.
