No. When gum is swallowed it enters the stomach and then makes it through the digestive...eventually being expelled in your poop. Your ribs are part of your skeletal system and has nothing to do with the digestive system.
It should be noted however, that the human body cannot digest gum. Some individuals who have been known to swallow chewing gum regularly and who are predisposed can unfortunately aid the growth of bezoars within their stomachs or intestines. That is the reason why it isn't advisable to swallow gum.

Once you swallow gum it is propelled into your tummy through the food pipe or esophagus. here acid in the stomach - hydrochloric acid - and some enzymes digest the gum by breaking its chemical composition. it then goes into your small intestine and the sugar part of it is absorbed. some other minerals are absorbed into the circulation as small particles which in no way resembles the original gum. the rest of it gets lost with the rest of the trash in the bowels and will pass out yellow in the next mornings stools when youevacuate.
the thoracic cage that is bound by the bony ribs serve to protect the lungs and the heart and this will in no way come in contact to your food system.
If some one scared you about the sticking to the ribs part throw this knowledge at them - let them think twice about scaring you again!

Your ribs make no contact with the interior of your digestive tract, making it impossible for anything you swallow to actually stick to your ribs.
