Hopefully this link will answer a few questions for you. Wait until your mom and dad come home to tell your little brother so you can sit down and discuss it as a family. Hope all turns out well.

I'd wait til your parents get home.
Your colon is part of your intestines, pretty far down in your digestive system. Colon cancer can be bad, but if it's found early and you get treatments such as surgery and special medication (chemotherapy), many people have lived for years after they found out they had it.
It's possible to die from it, but really the doctor can give you a better idea about that in her case. It depends on how bad a case you have and how healthy you are otherwise. Cancer, of course, is when cells in part of your body start growing too fast and make a lump that shouldn't be there and is harmful to that part of the body.
Keep praying. Remember that you can't catch cancer by being around someone who has it, so be sure to still love and hug your grandma and stay hopeful and pray. She might be able to make a good recovery! Good luck, and I'll pray, too.

In anatomy of the digestive system, the colon (> Greek κῶλον) is the part of the intestine from the caecum to the rectum. Its primary purpose is to extract water from feces. In mammals, it consists of the ascending colon, transverse colon, the descending colon, the sigmoid colon, and the rectum. The colon from cecum to the mid transverse colon is also known as the right colon. The remainder is known as the left colon.
To be less technical, the colon is the part of your body that stores poo until it is ready to be released. It is a little gross but we all have one.
Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. It is the third most common form of cancer and the second leading cause of death among cancers in the Western world. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from adenomatous polyps in the colon. These mushroom-like growths are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy. Therapy is usually through surgery, which in many cases is followed by chemotherapy.
Colon cancer is little growths that have developed on her colon. I'm not going to lie to you, cancer is never a good thing, but there are many treatments available these days. They will probably do surgery on her colon and try to remove these mushroom things.
It is okay to be sad, but your grandmother also needs your support. You should do what you can to show her that you care about her, perhaps you can make her a card or something.
Also I think you should leave telling your brother up to your parents.

Okay, Colon cancer is cancer of the colon which is part of your bowels. (Where food travels through and comes out of your butt.) It depends on the stage of the cancer as to wether or not it can be treated. You should let your mom tell your little brother about it. I am so sorry to hear about this horrible time in your families life. My grandmother was diagnosed with liver cancer about a month ago. Her is end stage, meaning there is nothing they can do to help her. God Bless

just wait and let your parents tell him.
colon cancer is a curable cancer. with surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy your grandma may be able to live. it will depend on how advanced the cancer is. sometimes they might also remove the colon and attach a little bag outside of her tummy called a colostomy. this bag will collect poop so she won't need her colon. your grandma will have to see a special cancer doctor called an oncologists. they will do lots of tests to find out what stage the cancer is in and the best way to treat it. i'll say a prayer for you and your family...

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, sweetheart. You've gotten a lot of good answers and advice, and I agree that you should wait for your parents to come home to tell your little brother about what's going on.
Because you don't understand it that well yourself, and of course not understanding causes even more concern, you don't want to pass concern that is possibly not as bad as you think it is on to your brother.
I think you should sit down and have a really serious talk with your parents. Let them know how much this is upsetting you, and that it's important for you to know the truth so you can prepare for your grandmom's death IF that's what's going to happen. And if they've caught the cancer in its early stages, there's a good possibility the doctors can help her to live longer. And if that's the case, you need to know that there's hope.
There were two people who answered who are sicker than your grandmother!!! One said there was "no God so get off the computer" and the other one (Just enquiring is his name) should be taken out and shot! We all have cancer cells in our body, but doctors don't know what causes the cell to be activated. Please don't worry that you and your brother are going to come down with this too. Both my mother and father died from cancer...I'm 68 and I don't have it.
God bless you and comfort you.

Try to wait for your parents to come home so that they can talk to your brother. Colon cancer is serious, but it depends on how advanced it is and on the person who has it. A colon is part of the intestines. I was pleased to read that you prayed. Keep praying and trust in God to do what is right. God bless you and your family.

Honey, let your mom tell him. Some people take this kind of news harder than others and you can't really answer his questions. Your colon is your intestines. Colon cancer is curable, but there is no guarantee. Lots of praying is the best thing you can do for her. My prayers are with all of you too.
