You would think that is Muslims and Christians both felt so strongly for this woman, you would know where she was buried. A shrine would be there or something. Well - where is she buried? You have tombs of the Pharoh's of Egypt still around, yet the Virgin Mary the most loved woman by two major relgions can't be found?

She didn't remain a virgin of course. No one knows for sure where Jesus was buried, let alone his mother.

added: If she is in heaven, please give me book, chapter and verse that says that.

"Virgin Mary" Saint Mary
Birth: unknown
Death: unknown

Religious Figure. She is believed by Christianity to be the Mother of Jesus of Nazareth (the Christian Messiah). Born to Joachim and Anna. Joachim was of the house of David and Anna was of the house of Aaron. She was betrothed and later married to Joseph who was a carpenter. Mary took part in the Incarnation and Redemption by her Divine Motherhood and her sorrows on Calvary. On October 11, 1954, Pope Pius XII institued the Feast of Mary in the liturgical calendar of the Church. According to Catholic belief, Mary was assumed body and soul into heaven. Therefore, there is no grave or tomb. The doctrine of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was formally defined and proclaimed by Pope Pius XII in 1950. Her date of death is unknown and she is believed to be buried in Gethsemane. (bio by: God Bless & R.I.P. Carol C. from Mass.)

Don't you think there is a reason, there is NO tomb? Mary, is NOT Jesus Christ. Too many people have potrayed her as this now. If she was a "equal" to Jesus Christ or even anything like close, God, Himself would have made it abundantley clear, as to where her burial site is.

good Q*.

It is obvious you do not understand, just because there is no tomb marked the "virgin Mary" doesn't mean it doesn't exist. you are talking many many millenia ago. The Egyptian Pharoh's were kings and thought themselves to be of great importance the key to being a child of God is humility, humble. Like a child you seek and hunger for knowledge it doesn't matter where your final corporal resting place is, you become spirit and reunited with the Father. Jesus himself said when he was informed that His mother and brothers were outside of the house he was teaching in answered, who is my mother, who are my brothers, meaning we are all brothers and sisters and we should treat everyone the same with love and compassion and understanding.

Hmm, I'm not Catholic, or Christian either for that matter. But wasn't the BVM supposed to have been taken bodily up into Heaven? If so, then naturally there would be no grave or tomb. There are bazillions of shrines though. In my town there's one in every other garden on the street. :-)

I agree with the others - she wasn't a virgin when she died, as Jesus had several other (half) brothers and sisters. I will guess and say she was buried in the ground (possibly a tomb - either way she's long gone) and she was old when she died.
