What was it that you wanted most to be when you grew up? Who did you admire? What was the greatest influence on you during your teen years? Did you make your dream happen?

I aspired to be a pediatrician but then I hit puberty and started doing things I shouldn't have--let my grades slip and you know the rest. I'm not a doctor....LOL. It was a screw up of my own making. Sometimes I regret it but other times I don't. I have a fairly good job now and two very smart kids (even if they are a bit lazy all the time) I just find myself wondering on occasion how much different my life would be had I pursued my dream.....

Girl, come get in my boat & we can row together!!!! I wanted to be a surgeon when I "grew up" but did not pursue that dream. I also wonder what could have been-esp when I found out my IQ was higher that a professor I had in college. I was in Psychology class & we were studying IQs. He asked if anyone knew their's, when they were tested, would they mind sharing it etc.
Just tell yourself like I tell myself, if it had not been for the choices I made, I would not have the kids I adore.

What was it that you wanted most to be when you grew up?

A long distance truck driver.

Who did you admire?

My grandfather. I admired my grandfather because of his deep seated commitment to his family, duty and God. Not once in all of my life, do I ever remember my grandpa failing to do exactly what he thought was the right thing to do.

What was the greatest influence on you during your teen years?

This is not so much a what, as a whom had the greatest influence over me. Ronald Reagan had the greatest influence over me because of his contagiously positive spirit and strength of character. Ronald Reagan will always be the greatest President of my lifetime.

Did you make your dream happen?

No, I did not. I came to realize by watching members of my family, and how they were affected by the fact the bread winners in their families were long distance truck drivers. While the lifestyle could be exciting (you could the continental United States and be paid for it) but that excitement came at a great cost sometimes. Like birthday's, graduation's, Thanksgivings and Christmases that were missed because of being on the road.

Yeah .. I wanted to be a Forensic Pathologist ( pretty much cut up dead bodies )

Since I was little I loved dissecting things ... and learning the different anatomy of things ... !

But, I joined the military ( for college $$$ ) partied my @ss off in Germany ... fell in "love" at least thought I was ... got pregnant ... married ... divorced ... and here I am ... mommy of a 4 yr old ... dating a great guy that wants a future with us ... great job ... family is around ... and I'm happier than ever ... so when I do start wondering where I would be ... I think to myself ... well if that didn't happen .. then I wouldn't be where I am today ... happy & in love ... !

Live & Learn ... right ... !

What we aspire to be and do and what is ordained for us often conflict one another. I had aspirations of playing professional sports. Was recruited and went to a good college and then bam, coaching staff changes, the head coach and I don't get along and that fast I'm no longer doing something I love! I just kept it moving on to the next endeavor, had a kid and now have a pretty good career in banking. I just tell myself that there was another purpose for me besides what I wanted.

When I was younger I wanted to be a pediatric surgeon, but after some internships in hospitals and seeing how hard it is not to get attached I decided I wanted to be a pediatrician and an obstatrician. I went to school and got my nursing degree and I have been working as a nurse for about 1 year now I have not accomplished my goals but I plan to go back to school and accomplish them.

I think that everyones life turns out the way it should be. I'm sure that 90% of peoples lifes are not what they expected when they were younger. But, if you are not happy with the way your life has ended up, you are still able to change it no matter what age you are.
