EVERYTHING is a phase. It takes a human being 68 days to starve to death. Your child might go for weeks or even days without eating a lot. At other times he will eat for about four hours per day. If you are really worried just weigh him and take him in to a doctor, but it's almost certainly just a phase and don't worry about it. I have a 3-yr-old. He hasn't starved himself to death yet.

It is normal simply because at that age they are doing more and they can't wait to get down and crawl to something or walk to something.....My Dr. said, don't worry they will not starve themselves to death.....They will eat when they are hungry. Right now they are just excited because they are exploring and finding new things in their world.......Maybe by suppertime they will calm down more from being busy all day and enjoy a meal...
Just sit back and watch...They can be so much fun!.

Don't worry he will eat when he is hungary. Children go through stages when they eat very little and they go through stages when they eat well. As a mother, I can see your concern. Remember how small his stomach is. It may seem like a small amount of food to us as adults. Just make sure he gets a few bites of all food groups and you may want to consider a multi-vitamin. Talk to you ped. DR. about his eating habits and get him to recommend a vit for children.
The Dr. will weigh/measure him to compare the results to your national average to see if he is underweight.

they get to running around and don't care to eat... just make sure you dope him up on some juice and milk... try letting him run around with like a hot dog or something... i'm babysitting my nephew and he's doing the same thing.... normally if i'm eating something, he'll run up to me for a bite... he runs around eating a hot dog, or some chips or something... i give him apple, cranberry, etc juice and sometimes slip some mushy baby food in there and shake it up really well, so he's getting all he needs.... nothing to worry about really, just try to make sure he's getting plenty of juice and milk...

Do you compensate with other stuff like...candy, fruit...whatever? Than that is the reason. If he knows other stuff is coming he will not eat that much.
