this has been going on since the times of adam and eve. Even the animals are attracted in some way to the most attractive whether it is stripes or a mating call.
Its never going to change. However the one thing that should be said here is to take the time and be proud of who you are and find your own beauty.
I can tell you so many examples when I went to my 10 year high school reunion about the so called, "hot girls," in high school and how they looked like **** and got fat. And the real nice girls, less pretty at that time grew up 10 years later to be beautiful and still very very friendly.
Being a good person and treating others the way you want to be treated lasts a lifetime and those looks of a teenager often go out when those teen age years end.

I too wish it were like that.. everyone respect and nurture each other... The message coming from all area's in our lives are.. It is good to be tall, thin, pretty and able to do it all... if we don't muster up then we are nobody... But our children are the ones suffering for our not being able to be perfect... Magazines show that if you are fat or ugly that you can't get a job, boyfriend/girlfriend.. or have a good life.. this goes for boy or girls.. If we are not pretty or perfect then we are not worthy... I know my brother tells his daughter and son that they have to have the perfect hair the perfect teeth the perfect look.. be thin and now they are having a hard time dealing with real life.. when we tell kids this they believe it.. what happens if we are beautiful and then have a car accident and are horribly disfigured.. can the perfect person handle that? No and our schools are the same way.. look at who the teachers pets are.. usually it is the popular kids.. the perfect kids... I offer a solution.. If everyone starts a nurture a friend day... pick a new friend someone we would not ordinarily take a second look at because they are not pretty or thin or perfect.. and try to get to know them... see how they feel.. you will be shocked to find out they have the same wants and needs as you do... maybe it might help... who knows.. give it a try.. :)

Yes! Teens are to be positive, confident. and respectful! Maybe you and a Friend can start a campaign in your school. If you do not have that special Friend to stand next to you to help you, Find the movie "Odd Girl Out" suggest to your dean or counselor that maybe the school should get a day to watch this movie. It is all about what you just asked about.

This isn't just a "teenagers these days" problem. It was happening 35 years ago, when I was in high school...I guess it's just a ugly side affect of human nature and how people are raised.

the elementary reality of existence and life is the sensation of "I" it extremely is neither mind's eye nor phantasm, yet ordinary journey for any living being. The know-how is eternal, omniscient, all-powerful and omnipresent at religious point. whether, whilst attributed to a physique it extremely is limited and mortal. whilst the physique dissolves into nature and vanishes with dying, human beings say that the "I" lived contained in the physique is merely figment of mind's eye and phantasm. And the satire of this mind's eye is that, the top is drawn via living people who don't be attentive to any ingredient with reference to the process existence or status of know-how after dying.

ever notice in today's "real world" its more of who you know and not what you know? Kind of the same thing in high school on how looks and every little thing can make or break your reputation.

Everyone is hung up about their looks no matter how old they are. I mean I see a lot of commercials for older women trying to still look 18.

What really bothers me is this has been happening forever. The teachers know about it but nothing is done.
