When I delete them as usual, they don't show up on the memory card, but when I order prints at the store and preview pictures on the store's device, the deleted pictures are there! I go back home, check it again, and they don't show on the memory card. Go back to the store, insert card in the store's computer - they are still there!

Is there is a way to do it without formating or deleting every folder?

You probably created more than one folder for storing images.

Connect the camera to your computer. Navigate to the camera and see how many folders you have. You don't say what brand of camera you have, but the folders will be named consistently, with numbers at the end like 01, 02 etc. Dump all of the photos into one folder, delete the rest.

It's also possible that the pictures that won't go away have been protected from deletion, which you do in the camera's menu settings. You'll have to refer to your manual to learn how to unprotect them. All the makers are bit different.

You might have more success deleting the files using a card reader and Windows Explorer (or Mac equivalent). I don't know how this will fare in the store machine, but you can give it a try.

Or, you can overwrite the file with an short file or image that your camera will not recognize and then delete it. At least if something shows up, it won't be readable. I get the display "This file does not contain image data" when I do that.

put it in your camera and find the 'Format" command.
It's often under the menu when in the 'play' mode or in the 'setup' mode, depending on your camera.

re-format your card and it will get rid of all those old pictures.

Or- take it to you computer and delete all the folders and files on the card... then empty the trash.
