no matter what, you are a Naval/AirForce/Marines/Army/Coast Guard officer FIRST, and an Intelligence Officer second.

So, do your research and ask some questions of Officer recruiters to see what your chances are of actually getting a slot in Intell, and then decide which Branch better suits your personality and needs.

As a retired naval officer I would tell you to go Air Force if you are seeking a career in intelligence. They have great programs and the have the best quality of life in all the branches of the military. I think it is great that you have chosen to pursue a career in the military. Two thumbs UP.

ok, first enable me say that i'm a military recruiter, so my opinion is obviously biased, yet . . . i'm a nuclear operator interior the army. I picked the army via fact they stated as me first, and that i picked the Nuclear field via fact they reported, "$12000 bonus!" I unquestionably have not at all regretted the two of those judgements, and that i've got come to have fun with military life and a few great reward of being in a pretty marketable field. that is been confusing paintings, each and every now and returned quite confusing, each and every now and returned not person-friendly, yet continually problematic and not in any respect uninteresting. i don't think of that all of us magically %. the ultimate branch and the ultimate job. i've got faith that whichever one you pick, in case you paintings confusing you will take fairly some delight on your determination, your job, and the those with whom you will proportion some very unique stories. that is comprehensible which you're sweating this determination; that's overwhelming to have maximum of huge-open doorways in front of you. attempt to bear in ideas that fairly some human beings are not at all interior the region you're in appropriate now, and have fun with the 2d! notice: a level does not immediately qualify you to be an officer!! Being an officer interior the protection rigidity is like applying for the different job; you could meet each and all the standards and that they are in a position to nevertheless say, "No thank you!" except you do 4 years of ROTC. I in hassle-free terms say that b/c that's an exceedingly uncomplicated false impression. :)

The defense department has their own intelligence agency - the DIA

Most of the people I met have a Navy or Air Force background.

I believe that the navy would be a great choice, and i'm not being biased here. But you could always look up the rating to IS (intelligence specialist)

My father was in the USMC, did his command time, then went into the CIA as an Intelligence Officer.

Talk to each recruiter. My vote is the Air Force OSI or security service, but then again I'm biased.

Anybody making career decisions on Yahoo Answers does not belong in military intelligence.

Check your e-mail
Hmm you have the reply option turned off.

So I'll just say Navy. I won't say why here.
There are several options.
The AF OSI are my second choice.
But they are more like Detectives than intel.
