My son had very bad eczema, and I used oilatum in the bath, its wonderful and soothing. You can get it on prescription, but you can just buy from the chemist. Its has no steroids or anything in it. I also use plain old talcum powder when its very red. (yes I know the complete opposite of keeping it moist and it dries the eczema, but honestly it works.
You can also try going to a herbalist, I worked with a little boy who had severe eczema and his mother after years of steroids creams tried this herbalist and his eczema cleared up significantly.
My son now only gets very slight eczema in the winter behind his knees and inside his elbows and a bit of talc clears it up in a couple of days.

The reading I have been doing indicates eczema is one of the skin conditions caused by the Candida fungus (yeast). Check out the yeast link at www.hufa.org for more info.
I understand the acidophilous bacteria helps keep yeast under control. Acidophilous is in yogurt. The plain unsweetened no fruit kind may help the best. You might want to try it as a lotion, on a small test patch, if you can handle the thought of smearing food on yourself.
E-mail me if you try it and tell me how it works?

i have seen preachers on t.v. heal people. i know that sounds crazy but...try to just heal it yourself. our bodies have some natural healing abilities. doctors say there is no crue. believe in yourself (or who ever you pray 2) that your body can rid you of these skin "demons". believe it or not i had the same problem. it only went away after i believed it would. i had eczema bad on my hands. my hand would even bleed! i hated it! now im eczema free. and i guess it it was because i said "heal". hold the part that has the problem and say HEAL. its not a day that goes by that i dont thank myself for healing it naturally. give it a try for a month you have nothing 2 lose but eczema.

"Easing the soreness" is treating the symptoms. It is not getting to the root cause, and that is not as difficult as you might think.
Eczema is an immune related disease.

hi to ease the pain of eczema you shouldn't wash the skin with soap, as this will aggravate it, try washing in aqueous cream with is an emollient moisturizer, also apply diprobase three times a day

I use zinc sprays and lotions high in Vitamin A. Don't know if you've tried these, but they work for me. Have you tried switching to a free & clear laundry detergent, a shower purifier, things like that? I found that all of the above significantly helped me.
