Adapted from Dan Brown's bestseller book, the story tells the investigation started by symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and a good looking cryptologist, Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), around the murder of a Museum Louvre's curator. In fact, the unfortunate murdered man was Sophie's grandfather, and the corpse was founded with a series of symbols and codes, like a pentagram and a Fibonacci number sequence. But police detective Fache (Jean Reno) will begin to chase Langdon, who escapes after receive a warning about the captain's real intentions. Sophie has with her a kind of key with dots and number 24 engraved on it, which opens to her and Langdon a big complex investigation, that involves a supposedly heretic theory: JesusChristh and Mary Magdalene were, in fact, a couple which give rise a daughter, named Sara. A millenarian sect called The Priory of Sion, has kept for centuries the secret of that matter. A masochist and kind of psychopath albino monk, Sibilas (Paul Bettany), an Opus Dei member, will chase Langdon and Shophie as well, in order to impede that they solve the mystery of Christ and Mary Magdalene, and also the real meaning and location of the Holy Grial. A passionate British researcher (Sir Ian McKellen), will help Langdon in his quest, revealing them several symbolisms at Da Vinci's master work The Last Supper, traveling to mythical places in the UK, like The Church Temple, where is believed that a group of Templars Knights are buried, and Sir Isaac Newton's tomb at Westminster Abbey, where are located some of the main keys to solve the Holy Grial's mystery.

I am Catholic and I have seen the Davinci Code - the book was better. The movie leaves nothing to the imagination - I fell asleep.

I read the book, did not see the movie yet. Interesting concept though. Since the Bible never states whether Jesus was married or not, I just let it go. To me, it would not make him less Holy or more Holy. That Mary M could have been his wife, who knows? I could never believe that she was the "Sacred vessel" though. Again, just a book of fiction that holds interest and causes some to doubt. Until I am told Christ was married, I will just keep that thought on hold. Good book, though in my opinion if you like suspense. Throw away the trash part and decide what you consider trash or not.

Yes I have an I would definitely recommend it. If you haven't read the book then it might be a bit hard to follow. It should be scheduled for DVD release in November so you can check it out then.

Yes I have. It is false except that there was a Knights Templar.

The painting of the Last Supper was false in many ways such as the last supper was not with a table. It was eaten laying down.

The plot for this fiction novel is very interesting. However, I don't care for Dan Brown's writing. I would give him 10/10 for plot and 4/10 for writing skill.

Good movie but missed a lot that the book had in it. This is probably one movie that should not have had Tom Hanks in it though.

The book was better.
Tom Hanks looked bad with greasy hair, and the chick was just okay....
