However, she wanted to ensure that he had the best, so she bit off a little piece from each one to determine its sweetness, and then put it back for him. For people who look down on others based on caste system, it is forbidden to touch a low caste person, moreover to eat from the same food. Lo and behold, Shri Ram did come to visit Sevari and he ate the same fruit that his low caste devotee tasted from. In God’s eyes none are lower or higher than others.
