This person must realize that John 1:1,14 says that "the word was God" and also "the word was made flesh." In other words, if that person rejects the bible than they reject God and his son,Jesus. Jesus is the way the truth and the light and no man can come unto the Father except thru him.
This person must also realize that Heb.10:25 says "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more,as ye see the day approaching."
This person is not a christian period especially when they bash Christianity in general and refute the word of God in ignorance. More likely to be an agnostic.

...1. The famous preacher, John Wesley, said this, "There is nothing more un-Christian, as a solitary Christian."
...2. Lone wolves do not make it in the Christian life. God has designed the Christian to function as part of a body of believers - see 1 Corinthians 12-14.
...3. To ignore the Bible, is to be willingly ignorant of God's will, and it will stunt one's spiritual growth. The Bible is the Christian's guidebook for life and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

One can be of The Christian Faith and not be a"member" of a particular "denomination" or "sect"... but to say that one would not need any others of like Faith... That is not likely... and to deliberatly shun others would be indirect oposition to the teaching and example of Jesus The Christ who is The Head of The Church of which all of The Christian Faith are The Body.... So, I would have to say that one who claimed to be"christian", and deliberatly shuned all others of The Faith, was not a "true" Christian. Unless... there had been some cause of some mental defect causing such behavior.
I did not come to God through The Bible... I did not begin to study it untill after my Salvation... It is only by the leading of The Holy Spirit that any True understanding can be found in God"s word. And it is that same leading of The Holy Spirit that draws those of The Christian Faith to each other.

No, cause there are many verses in the bible that says that we - as a single body of God - need to be united in every thing, "pray for each others" and in acts it was always said that they used to meet and pray with & to each others daily.
About the bible, no christian spirit can survive without it cause it says who is God & what is Christianity...
Bible is a personal msg for your spirit so no christian could really survive without reading it

The bible doesnt say that you must fellowship around other christians, but a true christian follows the bible (God's word). You cannot claim to be a christian if you do not read or follow your bible.

Hebrews 10:25:
25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.
I don't know of one Christian that doesn't need the Bible. How will you know God's word if you don't study it?
How will you know a lie if you don't know the truth?
Just something to think about...

I don't think so. God's word is the foundations of the we are to follow. How can you follow it with out the "map"?
As far as needing other Christians there is a great spiritual happening when they get together.

It is EXTREMELY recommended to read the Bible. You don't need to in order to be a Christian. But you should, cuz it's our Guide line for living.
As for needing other christians, you don't need others to be a Christian. But it is also EXTREMELY recommeded. I had a period in my life where I didn't have christians to go to, and it was the toughest point in my life.
So no, they aren't needed, but you should have them just the same.

It seems that everyone is able to define what "being Christian" is to him/her. Technically, just the belief that Jesus was god qualifies as being Christian. Furthermore, just being part of the Christian faith doesn't automatically qualify people for eternal salvation. Until about 200 years ago, it was believed that only those that god elected for salvation could go to heaven, and only god know who he elected. This meant that just being Christian didn't mean a pass into heaven.

I Tthink the appropriate answer is, "I don't know." One of the main tenets of Christianity is that God is the only judge. Therefore any question of "is so-and-so a true Christian," can always be answered the same way.
Just my opinion.
Great question
