Take the dog to a vet to be treated. OTC wormers do not work and can harm, even kill a pet. A vet is the safest most effective way. Take a fresh fecal sample so they can determine what type (or types) of worms the dog has.

Pick up a stool sample with the worms on it and take it to your vet. It is a small fee for a fecal float that will show exactly what type of worm he has. You can't but tapeworm medicine (that works) anywhere but at the vet. Since tapeworms come from fleas they get reinfested easily. If you treat the worms and not the fleas, the worms will be back in a few days.

Please take a stool/worm sample and take your dog to the Vet. The Vet, can test the stool sample and know for sure the exact type of worm that your dog has.
Just because the worms are coming out that does not mean they did not lay eggs and the dog could very well die on you.
Your Vet., will know the best course of action to take, shots or oral pills. (Very important that all eggs are killed, if any has been laid).

Get a treatment from the vet. If you treated the dog with a medicine you got from the store let the vet know. Those store bought treatments usually don't work. Also get flea medicine. Many times animals get paracites from eating fleas that are infected. Make sure there is no stagnant water where the dog plays. The other common way they get infected is by drinking infected water.
Hope this helps!

I can't believe all of these responses..........
If the dog was treated for worms, and the dog has worms coming out his butt, duh, they are dead and the dogs body is getting rid of the worms that have been killed.
It's suppose to work that way people.
De-worm the animal, kill the worms, worms are expelled in the poop.
Go ahead call the vet in a panic and see what they say.

If you treated him with an OTC medication, don't bother. Those sometimes don't work, especially if they're formulated for worms other than the kind your dog has. Your best bet is to go to the vet. Soon.

Did you treat him for tapeworms. They look like little white rice and medication to kill them is not in normal dewormers. Most of the time you have to go to the Vet for that dewormer. If you have a regular Vet they might let you just pick some up.

Sounds like round worms. If its been three days since he was treated call the vet to get more dewormer. They can pass them for almost three days after the dewormer.

If its that severe your going to favor a vets recognize-how with prescribed drugs and such. in case you may not arise with a vet till morning i might want to call an emergency vet for recommendations till then. no count number what the domestic dog is going to favor some significant deworming and a heart trojan horse try to be positive she doesnt have them.
