HI there...she appears to be a tortoise shell (also known as a tortie) -- a domestic short haired cat.
Here are some photos of a tortie:

She's a mixed breed cat otherwise known as a domestic shorthair. The coloring you describe however is that of a tortoiseshell. A tortoiseshell, however, is just a coat color & pattern, it's not a breed. I will say that at 13, you might want to watch her diet, however. 16 pounds is a bit on the heavy side and you don't want her to be at risk for heart trouble. She sounds like a very nice cat.

It's hard to distinguish with those pictures, but I'm going to say a regular domestic short hair. Her coloring looks like tortoiseshell.
Domestic short hair, domestic medium hair, and domestic long hair are terms used for any domesticated cat without a specific breed. Basically, they're mixed cats of unknown breed origin and the length of their hair determines which category they fit into. Then there's coloring. For instance, my male is an orange and white tiger, but that's not his breed. He's basically a mutt cat....he's a domestic short hair, orange and white. My female is a domestic short hair, dilute calico.

She is definitly 100% a tortie aka tortise shell. They have black as a main coat, with other mixes from parents blended in. Thats where the white and gold and what not comes from. Past genes. A tortie is not a pure bred, in case you were wondering.
Also, some might say Calico.. calico's base coat color is white or cream, thats what makes them diff than a tortie

The pictures are too dark to tell much. Sounds like she is a tortoiseshell and that is a color pattern and not a breed.
Looks like she has a flea collar on too. Flea collars are only good in your vacuum cleaner, not on a cat. Treat her with Advantage on a monthly basis.

It is hard to tell without her standing up, but a rough guess would be a Domestic Shorthair. Try taking a picture against a lighter background.

the pictures are too dark to really see but she is probably a just a domestic cat, can't tell the length of hair from those pics maybe a domestic short hair or domestic medium hair.

Do what one of our old vets did, right on the rabies certificate under breed....
"Gorgeous cat".
Most likely an average domestic shorthair with tortie markings, but she's yours, and adorable. Keep her and love her!
She didn't ask about your pedigree; why worry about hers?
