I was born in Canada and raised in a small town in Ontario, but moved to MI when I was about 10 yrs old. I now live in OH with my husband. I'm 21 now and we've been discussing on where to raise our kids in the next couple of years, and I'd really like to move back to Canada. I would like to know which province provides good healthcare, has a good economy, good schooling, and an all around nice place to live weather-wise and safety. Please give me as much detailed information as you can on a single province/city or more. Also looking for a city close to an urban area with shopping centres and wanted jobs.

I have spent all my life in BC and would have to say right now Alberta provides most of what you are saying. Their oil economy has money to burn and more jobs. Education and health is better funded.

However, there is always a downside. A good economy is bringing in transients looking for work, which could increase crime. Housing costs are rising with overall inflation.

I'd go if I needed a job.

I am not from Canada, just visit frequently for vacations and some business. I think Vancouver, B.C. is one of the best areas to work, live and play...conveniently located, lots of jobs and I never had any safety issues and I frequently travel alone. Again, I am not an authority on Vancouver, B.C., but I was born and raised in Ohio, have lived in New York, California and London and think that of all the places I have lived, I would most like to make my home in Vancouver. You should add it to your list to definitely research as a possible home.

Good luck with your plans :-)
