Tell him it's a penis. That is what it is, isn't it? I don't see anything wrong with letting him know what his body parts are actually called. I knew by the time I was four...boys have penises and girls have vaginas. It doesn't have to be a long conversation. Just explain to him the differences and he'll understand. Don't go into great detail though. A good book is "Where do I come From?" if he has any other questions.

I would tell him the real terms. The only reason I say this is because if there is ever a situation and someone is messing with him in the wrong ways then he can come tell you that they can give you the real name and not the nickname.

call it what it really is, a penis. There are plenty of books geared towards young children explaining their body parts. You should always use the correct name, even though made up names sometimes sound cute.

leave it as a peepee for now, there's plenty of time to tell him when he is older.

I think it is best to use the adult terms for the genitalia. It makes it easier to explain how everything works when they start asking questions in a few years.

You wouldn't give his elbow a cutesy name, would you?
It's just a body part. Call it by the proper name.
