If you are referring to the Female Chicken as the Hen then the answer is the egg.
Chickens were not known as chickens until after the 1800's.
However eggs have been around since before the dinosaurs exsisted.

If you believe in the Bible, the hen came first, because, acording to the bible, God created the birds, who then laid the eggs after that.
If you believe in Evolution, the egg came first because, at some point the first hen was born from an egg, but the thing that laid it was not a hen. The hen came about through genetic mutation.
If you believe in McDonalds, the egg comes first, on a McMuffin, until 11:00AM. After which comes the hen, in the form of a Snack Wrap or a McNugget.

According to Aristotle, actuality takes precedence over (comes first before) potentiality. Eggs become hens (or more generally, chickens), chickens do not become eggs (they lay eggs, they don’t become eggs). Therefore an egg is a chicken in potentiality, but a chicken is a chicken in actuality. Therefore the chicken, i.e. the hen, came first.

Hen from an egg that is not a hen's egg.
Think if a one legged chicken is born does it come from a one-legged-chicken egg or or just a regular chicken egg.
Later as that one legged chicken grows all it's chicks will also be one legged and then the eggs will become smaller and eventually become different.
