I mean why do some women find it necessary to validate themselves through flirting with other womens' partners? If you are one of those women I would like to know what it is that turns you on with this? is it making their girlfriend/wife jeleous/ the attention you might get from someone who will not be interested in a relationship because they are taken? or is it that men with partners are more attractive somehow? :)

hey there i think that the reason that this can happen is not just one thing but can be on of a few things. The first is just that some women whether single or attatched are just naturally flirtatious and/bubbly/sexy and dont really think anything of the effect that they have. The second reason is that there are of course just some skanky women out there who are just jealous or whatever and go for anything just to be the centre of attention...women can be shallow too. Third theres the reason that many women do this in my opinion because perhaps deep down they are afraid to have a real and honest thing with anyone or have deep rooted issues about themselves and their confidence etc and to flirt with an attatched man is a 'safe bet' in a way. Youre very unlikely to end up with him and even if you do the liklihood is that its going to be fairly short lived so thats my humble offering...good luck

It depends on the situation. I am married VERY happily, however I have flirted a bit and will do so. Flirting for me is harmless and usually the person on the receiving end smiles. I have no prob giving someone a complement or a lil flirt if it makes someone feel good.

I have NO intention of taking it further and those I play (meaning flirt or tease) know this.

If someone flirts with my husband I am flattered. I have no concerns, as we are bot happy and have great communication.

With some, it's the attraction of the unattainable; of course the minute they get a guy, they lose interest. With others, they feel that flirting and getting a response from someone who is "spoken for" makes them irresistibly attractive or something...basically it shores up their flagging self-esteem.
They are totally sad, whatever the motivation.

Its just a natural instinct, u shouldnt let it bother u.
Matter of fact , u should flirt with your hubbys buddies , but not in a sexual manner , but a friendly human matter.
Dont get discourage now, men love for all women to flirt with them. It doesnt mean a thing.
Make a joke about it when it happens.

I think that some people are so insecure with themselves that they need to be validated by members of the opposite sex. Women hitting on other women's partners is probably a complete ego boost for the offender. She seemingly prooves to herself that even though he has a partner, he finds her just as or more interesting/attractive.

I had a friend that hit on all of my partners - going to great lengths to attract them. Although very beautiful, she didn't have much else to offer. She needed to prove to me that her beauty was worth more than my intelligence.

women are natually competitive of each other. Its like friggen
national geographic out there, ever two girls size each up in a
bar or at work? or at the ladies room, you'll hear them say something like "cute shoes" but they dont really mean "cute shoes" they mean"you're an ugly cow and those shoes look way better on me" So they do this with men too.
so the women who prey on/flirt with taken men are more primitive
species of "women" theyre still acting out on their competive
impulses. pity them ,their brains are smaller than ours.

also, married women seem to have a fourth wall up for single
women, its like they think that at any time, any place, some thin,
childless women will just come and snatch up what theyve worked so hard for.

its a lose-lose situation

I think it is based on animal instinct. Women are attracted to men with partners based on Darwin's idea of "survival of the fittest" or "Natural Selection". You select your partner based on strengths he represents. Naturally, those strengths are equally attractive to other females, and instinct is to flirt with them to attract their attention.
In my case, the moment I know their status as taken, I back off. Although instinctively I might find the guy attractive, personally, I'm not into the headache and hassle involved in the pursuit.

I am not one of these women. My opinon is that it is a power trip for them. It makes them feel better to flirt and get responded to. Mostly these people have low self esteem.

some women feel the need to flirt with other peoples partners because it gives them an adrenalin buzz and they feel insecure about their own lives or relationships so they feel the need to ruin others
